HERITAGE
The Alpujarra of Granada has a great cultural heritage that can be observed in the different municipalities that comprise this spectacular region.

PARTIES
The patron saint festivities that are celebrated in each of the municipalities that are concentrated in the Alpujarra of Granada.
The Moors and Christians festivities are prestigious and are visited every year by a large number of people. It is a symbolic representation of the clashes that took place during the 16th century.
A great taste for music can be observed, especially folklore accompanied by guitars, bandurrias and lauds.
The figure of the troveros is still very present. Through some improvised songs they are happening in response between the different singers.
In addition, there are different festivals held in honor of other saints, that of the emigrant, that of the fifths or the well-known carnival.
A curiosity is the party that takes place in the municipality of Bérchules on the occasion of its peculiar New Year’s Eve. Held in the month of August since 1994. A peculiar custom of the town and in which both inhabitants and visitors are concentrated.
